Namdhari Guru Ram Singh, founder of Kuka Movement, played a prominent role in the struggle of India at the time when the British had taken over the entire country. Namadhari Guru Ram Singh was the first charismatic leader who launched anti-colonial movement in Punjab, Known as the Kuka Movement on 12 April 1857 which synchrnised with the uprising of 1857, the first war of Independence. Namdhari Guru Ram Singh was also a social reformer.
