Editorial

Question.1 Can I send my proposal again if I have been rejected once?
Answer. The proposal once rejected will not be considered again for publication.
Question.2 Can I send my proposal elsewhere while I have submitted it to NBT?
Answer. When you submit a proposal to NBT, it is suggested that the same should not be sent to any
other publishing house for consideration. Kindly attach a disclaimer informing that the
proposal has not been submitted to any other publishing house as we do not entertain
simultaneous submissions.
Question.3. What should I send along with my proposal?
Answer. your proposal should include a synopsis and chapter outline together with any two sample
chapters. For short stories and essays, please send a synopsis of the collection with five
sample stories and/or essays.
Question.4. If my manuscript is rejected, will it be returned?
Answer. Please keep a copy of your manuscript as we do not return it.
Question.5. How can I communicate with you regarding my proposal?
Answer. If the proposal/manuscript is considered for publication, we will inform you through e-mail.
For further information, you may contact the concerned series editor.
Question.6 How long does NBT take to consider a manuscript for publication?
Answer. As per our norms, the manuscript is first reviewed in-house and if need be, the manuscript
is sent to an expert for comments. Only after we receive the comments, the decision
regarding its publication is taken. The same is then informed to the author. The process of
internal and external review may take 8-16 weeks.
Question.7. If the manuscript is accepted and published, will it be translated into other languages?
Answer. The translation of a title is directly linked with the specific copyright arrangement with the
author, and is based on the recommendations of the language advisory panels/experts/editors.

Question.1 Does NBT organize any book fair in other countries?

Answer. No, NBT only participate in International Book Fairs.

Answer Yes, Indian publishers participate in the International Book Fairs through NBT.

Question.3 Approximately how may book fairs does NBT organize annually?

Answer NBT organizes 10-12 domestic book fairs in various states throughout the year.

Question.4 In how many/in what categories, the books are displayed in the exhibition organized by NBT?

Answer There is no such categorisation of books in domestic book fair. However, categorisation of books, are done in New Delhi World Book Fair only on annual basis.

Question.5 How can a publishing house register and take part in the NDWBF organized by NBT?

Answer A Publishing House can register online and participate in the NDWBF. However in domestic book fairs, a publisher can participate in the domestic book fairs through offline mode.

 

 

 

Public Relations (PR)

Question.1 How does Public Relations Section publicise and promote information through print
media?
Answer. Public Relations Section regularly publishes advertisements and publicises information
about its activities through newspapers (empanelled with DAVP), magazines, posters,
banners, etc.
Question.2 How does Public Relations Section publicize and promote information on the digital
platform?
Answer. Public Relations Section promotes NBT activities and publicizes information through
NBT’s official website as well as its Social Media platforms namely Facebook,
Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Koo, Telegram, etc.
Question.3 What other mediums does Public Relations Section utilize for promotions?
Answer. Public Relations Section promotes its books and events through advertorials/ editorials/
advertisements in magazines published in various Indian languages as well as events,
seminars, activities for children etc.
Question.4 What other activities does Public Relations Section organize?
Answer. Public Relations Section organizes webinars on special days/ relevant topics, literary
events, and manages NBT’s Knowledge Partnership collaborations with other organizations
etc.
Question.5 How does Public Relations Section promote NBT?
Answer. Public Relations Section conceptualizes and executes PR campaigns for marketing and
enhancing Brand NBT through print and electronic mediums as well as events and activities.

 

 

 

 

National Centre for Children’s Literature (NCCL)


Question. 1 How do I become a member of NCCL Library?
Answer. Membership is given upon onetime payment of a refundable security deposit of Rs. 500/-
with registration fee of Rs. 100/-.

Question 2. How many books I can borrow after membership?
Answer. Library member can borrow two books/magazines at a time for 15 days.

Question 3. How can my school be a part of Readers’ Club?
Answer. Please write to us on email nccl.nbtindia@gmail.com for details.

Question 4. I want to have some children’s activities to be done by NBT/NCCL. How can you help me
with that?

Answer. Yes, you may send us children’s story/poem for publish in Readers’ Club Bulletin, a

Grant-in-Aid

What is Grant-in-Aid Scheme Scheme of financial Assistance to Voluntary/ Private organizations for holding Seminars/ Training Courses/ Workshops/ Annual Conventions/ Book Fairs related to the Book Promotional Activities for development of reading habit.
Which activity covers under the Scheme Seminars/ Training Courses/ Workshops/ Annual Conventions/ Book Fairs related to the Book Promotional Activities for development of reading habit.
Who are eligible to apply i. The NGO/ Voluntary Organization having
a). A Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, or
b). a public trust registered under any law for the time being in force, or
c). A Charitable company licensed under Section 58 of the companies Act, or
d). University/Institutions of higher learning.
ii. The Organization must be registered with NGO- DARPAN portal of Govt. of India i.e. www.ngodarpan.gov.in and should have valid Unique ID.
iii. The Organization should be engaged in writing, publishing, bookselling and other activities related to book promotional activities/ educational awareness activities/ human resource development activities.
IV. The organization should have been in existence at least for three years.
v. Besides this Central/state Government recognized literary bodies, government supported academy/ educational institutions are also eligible under this scheme.

NGO scrutinizes and selects the proposal for grants under the scheme. The selected NGO must be registered on NITI Ayog NGO PS portal.
