About Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya
Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya, the National Digital Library for Children and Adolescents, an
initiative by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education,
Government of India, which provides free access to high-quality books for children and
adolescents across different geographies, languages, genres, and educational levels.
Furthermore, Samagra Shiksha promotes the use of e-books under its library initiative.
The application is available on Android and iOS platforms and is a digital toolkit
for students, librarians, and teachers with an immersive digital experience for
enhanced learning through tablets and mobile devices. It offers thousands of
books well categorized in age groups (3-8, 8-11, 11-14 and 14-18 years) with ageappropriate stories, biographies, classics, science fiction, novels, etc. It also has
provisions for creating digital readers’ clubs and interactive sessions and monitoring
readers' progress.
Activities at the Digital Reading Corner
The digital reading corner at the Chinar Book Festival is a space where readers can
experience a diverse range of digital books through the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya
application. The app boasts a library of over 1,000+ books from 45+ publishers in 23
languages, spanning 13 genres. This dedicated corner is part of an effort to instill a
love of reading in the youth.
Facilitating Downloads
An app for Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya has been developed to provide convenient access
to its digital library on both Android and iOS devices. This app houses a curated
selection of books, enabling users to effortlessly download and immerse themselves

website.
Spreading awareness about Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya
With the objective to enhance the tradition of book reading, Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya
focuses on motivating the youth to engage with knowledge and celebrate the vast
literary treasure aiming to promote culture of reading in country
Daily Sessions at the Chinar Book Festival
The Chinar Book Festival, will host daily orientation session for RashtriyaePustakalaya at Children’s Corner, SKICC, Srinagar. More than just aorientation session, the team will focus on interaction with the students, parents and other visitors at the Chinar Book Festival.
